Rabid raccoon attacked 2 people in Ocean City, health officials say

A raccoon that attacked two persons in Ocean Metropolis this week has been confirmed as screening positive for rabies, the Worcester County Health Section reported in a Friday information launch.

On June 22, Ocean Town law enforcement officers were being flagged down by a feminine in close proximity to 139th Avenue to report that she had been attacked by a rabid raccoon in accordance to a Friday police push launch. The feminine was treated by Ocean Metropolis EMS on the scene for injuries to her hand. The raccoon was not quickly situated.

Officers proven a perimeter in an endeavor to corral the raccoon. Animal Manage responded to the scene and was ready to capture the raccoon, the police release states.
